Mission to Esparanza Para Los Niños March 2-4

What do kids in an orphanage miss out on? Imagine a child not having a birthday party like we normally give our kids. On our mission trip, we are going to throw a huge "Unbirthday Party"! We will have a BBQ, face painters, a clown, a JCS class is making goody bags, and we want to make this the biggest and most exciting "Unbirthday Party" ever!
We will leave as a group from Joy at 12:00 Noon on Friday, March 2 and return on March 4 in the evening. Everyone attending must have a passport. We will be staying in houses that have three bedrooms each. In order to accommodate as many people as we can, we suggest each family share a room (bring air mattresses for the kids). Rooms are $25 per night. You will need to drive your own car and purchase Mexican Automobile insurance (about $40, depending on who you purchase through). To sign up for the trip or for more information, please contact Grace.Anderson@joyonline.org.

PWI Weekly Prayer School VI Offered This Winter

Community Church of Joy will host PWI Weekly Prayer School VI "Strategic Level Intercession and Warfare Prayer" taught by Pastor Bjorn Pedersen beginning Tuesday, January 10, 2012. The weekly class will be held Tuesdays in the CCOJ Worship Center from 6:30 - 9:15 PM January 10 through April 17, except for Holy Week holidays.

There will be a retreat Friday, February 24, 2012. Dr. Jean Zehnder will be the instructor for some of the weekend classes. They will be held in the Worship Center from 6:30 - 9:15 PM. On Saturday, February 25 the classes will be held from 9:00 AM - 4 PM.

"Strategic Level Intercession and Warfare Prayer" is all about intercession, especially strategic level intercession and warfare prayer. The starting point of this prayer school is teaching warfare to generations, based on Judges 3:2, which states, "He [God] did this to teach warfare to generations of Israelites who had no experience in battle" (NLT). The enemy and his troops are present until we arrive in Heaven. Through prayer, intercession, and warfare prayer, the power and influence of the enemy can be sharply reduced, if you know what you are doing and, if you follow the instruction in the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

The spiritual fight is still an important principle for current day strategic level intercessors and spiritual warriors. We don't fight with physical swords, spears, bows and arrows and shields, but with spiritual weapons far superior to any physical weapons. Prayer School Type VI teaches how to do anointed and effective battle in the Heavenly realm. It is all about learning how to defeat the enemy and his troops, taking back the Promised Land, and furthering God's kingdom on earth.

Prayer School VI integrates worship and praise, Bible teaching, and powerful practical prayer involvements.

Are you 18 to 28? Looking for a place to belong?

Our gathering is a group of like-minded young adults (ages 18-28) who meet together to eat, worship and grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and each other. We meet weekly on Monday nights at 6:30 PM in The Bridge (Youth building) on Joy's campus. We love serving, celebrating, and doing life together. If you are a young adult and would like to join us or would like more information, please contact Marissa Menchaca.
